Kiwanis Club Awards Grant to NAMI Washtenaw

OCTOBER 2018

NAMI Washtenaw received a $2,500 grant on Aug. 20 from the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor at an open house celebrating the club’s new facility at 100 N. Staebler Road. NAMI was one of several organizations to receive funds.

“The substantial gifting to the community is partly the result of the KCAA selling their downtown Ann Arbor building . . . and the payment of the mortgage of their new location,” said Michael F. Dabbs, past club president and assistant chair of the Grant Coordination Committee, quoted on the Kiwanis Club website. “This is a return to the KCAA tradition of annual granting of major dollars to nonprofit organizations and service providers.”

Mark Creekmore and Barb Higman attended the event and accepted the contribution on behalf of NAMI Washtenaw.
