Parents Together

Ongoing support group for parents or guardians of children who are currently exhibiting, or who have exhibited in the recent past, suicidal thoughts or behaviors. This free support group is led by trained NAMI volunteers and is a collaborative effort with several health organizations in Washtenaw County. The group meets on first Mondays of the month. Drop-ins are welcome and no registration is required.

Family-to-Family
Fall classes are set to begin in September. Ann Arbor classes start on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and Wednesday, Sept. 11. A Chelsea class starts on Thursday, Sept. 12. Three Opportunities to Participate in Research Studies
Teen Depression Study
Are you a teen or parent of a teen diagnosed with depression by a pediatrician or other medical provider? The NIH is conducting a nation-wide study of depression in teens ages 11 to 17. The study will include various assessments, including brain imaging. Eligible participants may receive evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy and standard medication if indicated. Depression, Repeated Doses of Ketamine, and Neuroimaging
NIMH is conducting a study to evaluate the rapid and sustained antidepressant effects of repeat doses of ketamine. This 14- to 20-week inpatient study is enrolling eligible depressed adults, ages 18 to 65 from across the United States, who are free of other serious medical conditions. NIMH will pay for travel to the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. There is no cost to participate and compensation is provided. Depression and Brain Function
Inpatient and/or Outpatient study: 8 weeks, and 3 once-a-month follow-up visits or phone calls. This depression research study tests the effects of the combination of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and psychotherapy on brain function. Participation includes research evaluations, brain scans, and active TMS and psychotherapy, or inactive TMS and psychotherapy. Recruiting ages 18 to 65 with major depressive disorder, who are free of other serious medical conditions. If you are currently taking antidepressants, you may still be eligible.
