Sponsor Spotlight: WCCMH

On November 8, we’re hosting our inaugural NAMIWalks Washtenaw County event at Gallup Park. This event is made possible thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, Washtenaw County Community Mental Health. Their generous support helps us continue our work to destigmatize mental illness and ensure that mental health resources are available to all.

Washtenaw County Community Mental Health (WCCMH) is the primary community mental health provider in Washtenaw County servicing adults and children. CMH operates under the vision that all residents can secure supports to improve their quality of life, and reach their full potential. Their mission is to promote hope, recovery, resilience, quality of life and wellness in Washtenaw County by providing high quality, integrated services to eligible individuals.

By serving as our Presenting Sponsor, WCCMH continues to show their dedication to expanding access to mental health education and resources in Washtenaw County. Support from CMH helps us sustain and expand our free support groups, educate the community about mental health through our classes, and strengthen our outreach and advocacy initiatives.

Thanks to Washtenaw County’s Public Safety and Mental Health Preservation Millage, WCCMH is able to offer mental health services to all individuals across Washtenaw County, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. WCCMH’s support also allows NAMI WC to contribute to countywide initiatives that improve access to care and strengthen mental health outcomes throughout Washtenaw County. We at NAMI WC have used millage funds to conduct outreach efforts in underserved areas of Washtenaw County, destigmatize mental health concerns, offer a variety of free programs for those who live with a mental health condition and their loved ones, and publish and disseminate a local mental health resource guide, “Taking Care.” In 2024, 637 people joined our peer support groups, and 144 people registered for our eight-week-long Peer-to-Peer and Family-to-Family classes (see the Millage Impact Report here).

Join us on November 8 at Gallup Park to connect with the community, show your support for community mental health, and learn more about local resources. Funds raised through NAMIWalks will help sustain and expand NAMIWC’s mental health programs.
